Biography

Jane Moore

Gardening is both Jane's profession and her hobby. Her weeks are spent working as head gardener at The Bath Priory hotel and restaurant, which has three acres of south-facing walled gardens, including a kitchen garden that Jane restored, providing a healthy supply of vegetables, fruit and herbs for the restaurant's Michelin-starred chef.

Jane spends her evenings and weekends tending her allotment, trying out new varieties and experimenting with growing techniques, as well as stocking her freezer and garage with produce.

A few years ago, Jane was awarded an RHS Silver Medal for a garden she built at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

She's currently redesigning her own garden, with a woodland theme for the shady areas, and a 'Gertrude Jekyll goes prairie' style for her sun-baked borders, using lots of grasses and herbaceous plants, as well as lavender and herbs.

Keep up to date and learn top tips from Jane in her weekly allotment blog.
