Advice needed with tomato and runner bean seedlings

Hi all

can any of you knowledgable people give me some advice on my tomato seedlings please? I was lucky enough to get a greenhouse for my birthday/Christmas and as a complete beginner I went a bit berserk with seeds! I am a bit worried about my tomato plants as they seem to look a bit yellow and not that healthy? Any ideas?

Also I think I may have planted my runner beans a bit early as they are growing like bilio! How long before I can plant them out or should I re pot them?

Thanks in advance

They all look fine. If the tomatoes are a bit yellow it could be because they have used up the food that was in the compost. Are you going to be growing them indoors or planting them outside at a later date?

I have grown beans on in pots that size until they are ready to go outside. They will need short canes to grow up so that they don't flop all over the greenhouse staging.

The toms look nice and sturdy but definitely on the pale side. What sort of soil are they growing in? Seedlings of that age, in a good quality potting mix, shouldn't need extra nutrition.

The toms look fine looks a bit on the dry side the yellowing is just the new growth the beans are not too big at the moment don't pot them on it will encourage them to grow faster.

Harden off and plant them outside end of may when all frost hopefully has gone

Normally compost has enough food in it for a month, but those look hungry to me. You usually feed tomatoes when they get flowers. Have they had enough water to enable them to get the food? I would try a pinch of organic fertiliser followed by watering at the bas, not the leaves. They should then green up, but not immediately.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

That's why I asked about what they're growing in. Seedlings shouldn't need any sort of fertiliser till after they're planted out.

They look as if they need more water but don't over do it,don't let them stand in it for too long.

    Hi all

thanks for the comments so far.

they are in a seed and potting compost mix its in a pink bag I think it may be Westland?

i repotted them from seed trays about 2 weeks ago...should I have used a different type of compost?

as for water I thought I was wAtering them too much after reading about not over wTering but perhaps I have gone to extremes and they are not getting enough....
