I'm looking for advice on the best beefsteak tomato varieties to grow, I'm already thinking about varieties to grow next year, getting very excited looking at catalogues:) This year I've grown gigantomo, which had a great flavour and is a great size, but at 3.99 for 6 seeds, it isn't really economical. I also tried super marmande, which i found very poor, hardly any fruit set and bland tasting fruit! Any ideas?

the tomato varieties beefsteak and brandywine are two great choices both for size and flavor.
thanks will have to try brandywine next year in that case. I've heard that black krim is quite good, has anyone tried it?
I can thoroughly recommend these, they're not exactly a beefsteak, but still excellent!

thanks swisssue, I've never heard of that tomato before but it looks simply delicious, will be giving it a try!
Regarding Black Krim, I've not grown it but I always include some 'black' varieties each year. In 2016, Carbon proved another very tasty success -- rich slightly smokey flavour and excellent raw or grilled. Also I grew an American heirloom 'beefsteak' called Abraham Lincoln which I can recommend for flavour and can grow to some size.
i'll be trying both of those for next year, thank you!
