Hello,
I have just purchased a bare-rooted Bramley seedling apple tree. After planting it stands about 4 foot high from the soil to the tip of the leader. It has about 10 small branches coming off the central stem.
It came from Asda's at £2,50 half price, but the sales ticket has no mention to what rootstock.
Which is best? Should I train it as a standard tree or as a bush.

I would wait a bit to see if a shape appears or not till spring, cutting any branches now might let the frost get to it. So not good time to do this.
Gardengirl,
Thanks for the advice, but I was just wondering, which method of pruning is best suited for this variety?
