Thought I'd get some dwarf french beans in so just bought some. I was surprised to read they should be spaced 2ft apart. It's been some yrs since I last grew them, but I'm sure they don't grow that big.
Any suggestions please?

Not great advice on the packet then!

Thanks Dove - so glad I can have more than 3 plants :)

I grew Annabell dwarf french last year direct sowed just a couple of inches apart, got a fantastic crop I would say a kg from each plant. Mind I have bought bulbs recently from Aldi they dont say how deep to plant them, and the dahlias and acidanthera arent hardy told them off they thanked me!

I grow dwarf french beans every year and space them 2 inches apart and about 12 inches between rows and always have good crops.  The instructions on your packet seem ambiguous between the 'sowing outside' instructions and 'Growing' instructions.

I do square foot gardening for all my veg, which basically means pack them in tight. Generally 1 - 4 plants in a sq foot depending on the plant (lots of pics on google if you search). Goes against conventional spacing but works great for me and no weeds!
