A lot of my garlic appears to have blown over or bee knocked over by pigeons. What should I do?

Hi Lulu
I tend to tye string around my garlic unti they are big enough to support each other which deters the damm pidgeons
I have never suffered any damage caused by pidgeons or any other animal (i am lucky) to my garlic and have always had a good return for my money.
If they are exposed to the wind use a wind break to lesson the wind hitting your plants. i have a number i use and will post photograph tomorrow of what i used which is cheap and works

Hi all
Well that's the garlic preped for storage which will be still fine in 12 months, however the bulbs are not huge and I hope that next years can be an improvement
Plenty of it and that means no buying from the supermarket
Quite an easy crop to go and can be grown in small spaces so all out there give a go and post some of your returns

It does depend on the variety whether it will still be good in 12 months. I suspect most supermarket garlic is sprayed with a retardant to stop it shooting from, perhaps, January onwards.
That's a mighty lot of garlic to get through!!!

They look lovely Chris! I can never manage to plait garlic as well as yours!
Hi all and thanks Clarington
However having very little hair to practice with I doubt I could get away with taking the applause for the garlic.
Mrs 172 is owed a bottle of Prosecco for the sterling work ha ha
