Hi marksman, I grow them in small modules, 1 seed per module and transplant into 3 inch pots when they are about an inch tall.  If in a seed tray I would prick them out at the same stage.  They seem to prefer to be gradually moved to larger pots in stages so mine are transplanted into 5 inch pots when the roots reach the sides and bottom of the small pots and then into their final pots when the roots reach the sides/bottom of the 5".  When transplanting, the whole rootball is moved without disturbing the roots.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • hi bob should i take the tops off or is that not good

I wouldn't - see my reply to your other thread.

I agree, don't pinch out the tops. If they are leggy, then plant them deeper, roots will grow from the stem.

I wait until they have true leaves then they have roots seedlings don't do as well before then and u could loose them.
