suitable-veg-for-greenhouse

I have got pots and trays of varying shapes and sizes ready to use. Just need to start slowly adding things to the greenhouse. It is a walk in one, so good amount of space. Recommendations for what to sow would be gratefully appreciated. I really would like to grow tomatos in the greenhouse, but is it the wrong time of year to sow these into gro bags?

Take yourself down to the garden centre or somewhere that sells seeds and read the packets.  They will say when you can sow.  You will probably be able to pick up reduced price packets which will be ideal for next year.

There is still time to sow salad leaves and other things.  In Sept you can start off onion sets in modules for next year, to plant out later in the autumn.

If you are not an experienced gardener do not go mad, just pick out a few things you would like to grow.

Why not sow some leeks, spring cabbage, spinach as a first time try. They should crop by January.

Swiss Chard is a tasty and colourful veg. great for stir frys.  Bright Lights variety can be harvested from about 2 months and comes in a mixture of purple, yellow, orange and crimson stems.
