What apples are growing in my garden

I have two apple trees in the garden...1 produces small green apples which are turning red (??? Crab apple) and another tree producing large green apples (?? Cooking apples).....how do I tell? And can I use these apples for anything? I would like to add picture...but don't know how (new to this forum and site). Any advice?

If you want a correct identification take an example of each apple to an 'Apple Day' where there will be an expert. Apple Days are held all over the country, mainly in October.

In the meantime take a look at the Orange Pippen site, Brogdale site, or look through a good online catalogue.

If you wait until the apples are ripe you will know what to do with them once you taste them.
