Hi All

I have purchased a Plum Opal tree today as i could not resist.... I have a place that i would like to plant it but it in on the north side of my garden. I know these require sun really but the tree is very tall and so when planted will actually be above the 6ft fence panel and so will receive light. Will this be ok or would i be better off trying to locate a space that receives more sun for longer?

Thanks in advance

I would, try for as sunny a position as possible. In  a shady position it would likely be more lanky growing I think.  More fruit in sun and more bushy

Agree with Verdun.  If you don't have south-facing side of the garden, go for a west-facing one if you can.
