potatoes varieties

this year I grew arran & desiree... poor crop plus when boiled went to mush..especially arran...want to go grow good cropper plus good for boiling.. hopefully a white... has anyone tried & tested any varieties I may try...

Might I suggest you go for varieties you can't find in the supermarket.  This year our best earlies (we only grow earlies) have been Nicola and Lord Rosebery (pink skin).

We've also grown International Kidney (aka Jersey Royals) this year.  None of them have gone to mush, though as they are earlies we boil them in their skins.
