Have a large garden , lots of insect friendly plants, but beans are not setting and flowers are dropping, is it the costant rain or has anyone an answer

This often happens early in the season-and it has not been sunny and warm-we need the bees to take care of the flowers-you are not alone it is just a matter of waiting for the right conditions-I seem to go through this worry ever year but magically still get beans

Be patient is all you can do.

We had the prize number of runner beans yesterday for dinner!  TWO!  plus I did see a bee buzzing around them so lets hope we have more.

I keep finding the flowers on the ground and hardly any tiny beans on the plants. I think the windy weather we've had is blowing them off, or just not warm enough to bring out the bees.

I have beans forming

So do I

Got lots on the runner bean plants too

I read the other day that some bees bite through the flowers to get to the nectar.

these bugs, snails and slugs are a crafty lot arent they!

Do i presume it's the relentless rain that's stopping any flowers from even forming? Beans sown and they've shot up to the top of the canes - I had high hopes - but no flowers.

If they have reached the top of the canes pinch the tops out now-that not only produces side shoots but encourages flowers as well-watched a bee this afternoon diligently moving from flower to flower doing its stuff
