I started with one strawberry plant a few years ago and have been taking new plants from the mother plant.  The 'mother' continues to be very healthy and I keep her in the greenhouse for an early crop.  She is flowering well already but the leaves are plentiful and lush and are covering many of the flowers.  I have not removed healthy leaves before but should I do this and how many?  I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks.

I've done this in the past so that flowers and fruits get more light Lynne. Doesn't seem to cause a problem.

Though you should factor in the reason plants have leaves.  Some gardeners cannot leave well alone and want to 'tidy' plants up.  Why?

Thanks Fairy Girl, I will remove a few leaves then.  It was my instinct so I will give it a go.
