Thanks for the tips . It should work very well for the lizards, with the summer growth providing shade but it being nice and open in the spring and autumn when they like to bask for ages. Our tyres attract ladybirds too, they hibernate together in our log piles. I always know when the ladybirds have left the logs and are on the tyres the lizards will be out any day soon. 

Found a tyre plant in the brambles just off the end of my allotment plot that someone made, will use it some where
