Anyone know what this is? Growing uninvited in my orchard. Now about 5 foot tall. Like to know what it is before I fetch it out.

    Buddleja?

No Paul not Budlea. The 'flower' is like a creamy coloured catkin, turns brown after a while. The leaves reminded me of Eucalyptus being greyish.

Definitely some sort of willow. We've got similar ones frowing near the river here in the middle of The Netherlands. I don't like them, because I've had seedlings popping up all around my ponds, and they're a real nuisance to remove without falling into the water, and the pollen seems to trigger my hay fever image.

Agreed it is a willow and that is the female catkin.  Willows produce both male and female catkins.
