Hi Happymarion. My horse chestnut tree is looking ablaze with colour. Will post some piccies soon. However my potted Acers are looking a bit crisp around the leaves, I water them well, so any suggestions?
Horse chestnuts look terrific in the autumn gina.
Have you got a lot of wind? I'll rephrase that...
Are the Acers a bit exposed? Sun's still strong at this time of year too so it might be a combination of those.
I had the same problem with my little Acer. I blame the sun and wind.
I visited some peoples gardens in Cardiff earlier this year and all the Acers I saw were planted in Deep Shaded and Crowded woodland areas.
My Michaelmas daisies are out.
One above is "Little Pink Beauty", but it isn't nearly as pink as the one I had years ago in England, although I bought it in England. I bought the next ones here in France.
wow those Asters are gorgeous. Must make a mental note to pick one up this Autumn
Lovely picture of an old duvet cover..H left it on the bench after doing some painting.
Lovely pictures everyone - still so many flowers out there! Love your echinaceas Matt - and wouldn't have noticed the duvet cover unless you'd mentioned it KEF - was too busy looking atl the pink flowers ( what are they?)
Love your asters Lizzie. And FG - it's planting time - enjoy
The birds are going to love all the berries this autumn.
My pyracantha and cotoneasters are covered.
Took these yesterday - Seedheads on Clematis Daniel Deronda in the rain:
Loads chick! It's much more purple than it looks on the pix. I bought it in the bargain corner at GC during early summer and it's in a large pot at the moment. It's grown like mad and flowered really well so I'd say it's a good one to buy.
Yes - big flowers- about 4" across. It's going into the new raised beds I'm making so hopefully it'll be even bigger better next year!
The hoverfly's enjoying that Buzzy! Great autumnal colour.
I think I've fallen in love with Daniel Deronda - he might have to come to live in our front garden (when I've dug the new border).
I think I'm soon going to have to make my serious list .... maybe today is the day to start ....
It's a nice colour Dove. A good purple. I got it for £4 in the bargain corner of the GC with Etoile Violette in late spring /early summer. Strong grower. It associated well with the Cupani sweet peas I had in front of it so you'll have to give them another go too! Just noticed this morning that the 2nd crop of buds on EV are starting to open.
I had this one http://www.taylorsclematis.co.uk/clematis-purpurea_plena-elegans.html in a previous garden - fablous for autumn colour - I'll have to find room for this one too.
Scroll down on that link and look at the last picture - isn't it fabulous?
