I hope this is the right section to post. I got through the post today a bare root sloe tree. This was ordered months ago. The problen I have is that the ground is frozen with lying snow on it. If I planted the trees in compost in a large pot would this be OK until I could get it in the ground?

Yes- a pot will be fine-it is set to get milder by the weekend-but if the ground is waterlogged or frozen then do not plant out just yet
Thanks for your quick reply. I will go and get a large pot then. The ground was very wet before we got the snow so I image it will be frozen.
