Despite giving myself a good talking too I've already succumbed and bought some free dahlias £5.95 postage from the Telegraph on line, thanks to whoever posted the link. Earlier today I was in Wilkinsons and they have Dahias for sale at £1 per pack. I just couldn't resist but limited myself to three, just thought some other weak willed gardeners might want to torment themselves haha. They also have seeds on sale very cheap price pack but on offer at 3 for 2. I haven't used Wilko seeds myself but have been told they are OK....I'll save the seeds treat til next visit.

happy planning...Jean

I have had great success with Wilco seeds, had a few good bulbs from Poundland

though not quite as reliable, still for a quid what do you expect!!!

I've used Wilko seeds before and I was very very impressed. At the end of the season they reduced everything by 75% and I had an entire carrier bag full for about £20. Germination of some was patchy the following season, but they were so cheap it was definitely a worthwhile investment.

Yes, I have had great success with Wiko's bulbs, seeds and my daughter bought me a pale yellow Lupin some years ago, which is still going strong and now has 2 offspring.

I would pot up those little tubers ASAP and I do this initially in dry compost.  If tubers have badly shrivelled I moisten them a little overnight indoors before potting   up.  They are then ready for take off in early spring

Thanks Verdon that's just what I intended to do. they aren't tiny or dried out but it's as easy a way for me to store them at present, there is some space free ion the garage bench, too cold in my little greenhouse. Am checking my stored tubers this weekend so fingers crossed they are OK.
