Can you keep an Otto Luyken cherry laurel in a container?

Does anyone know if it is possible to permanently keep an Otto Luyken cherry laurel in a nice big container (or why not)? They have such a lovely Grecian look about them and they are much hardier where I live than a true laurel, but I have looked all over the internet and not seen it done. Always they are used as a hedge. I can't be the first person to think of it.
