I'd like a tree at the front of the house but, because of water pipes I'm doubtful of planting it in the ground has anyone grown this in a large pot and was it succesful

I was sure I'd read somewhere that it was very successful in containers - I can't fine the article I was thinking of, but I have found this which indicates that it's suitable for containers http://hort.ifas.ufl.edu/database/documents/pdf/tree_fact_sheets/cercanc.pdf

It does do well in containers (at least so far for me) but prefers a free draining site in the ground. They have a habit of branch dieback during even mild winters until the reach a certain size, which is a bit boring and limits spring flowers. My ones in a pot is a lovely yellow at the moment while the one in the ground is still green.
