In a month's time I have shall be having some building work done and against one of the walls to be demolished is a small all green cotoneaster. Can I take cuttings from this before it is dug out, please?

When you dig out the plant you can cut it right back, it will sprout again when you re-plant it. Keep it safe in a pot until then.

But by all means take cuttings as a fail safe.

Welshonion, apologies for not answering your message before now. I have planted out the cuttings and time will tell I expect!
