I would welcome ideas for creating a cut flower border so that I can have a good supply of cut flowers for the house on a tight budget .

There are several good articles about cut flowers written by Sarah Raven, I have followed her advice and some of the plants she recommends have proved successful for me. Cosmos, Dahlias, Sweet Peas and Wallflowers. All can be grown from seed, so quite economical.

I would agree with above, and also snapdragons, rudebekias, cornflowers and calendulas. All easy to grow from seed. It is lovely to have flowers that you have grown in the house.
