Daphne Odora Aureomarginata

Has anyone had  similar or know of a reason why my Daphne Odora Aureomarginata has started to die back. It looks like wilt and has entirely dropped it,s leaves on one plant and is doing the same branch by branch on my mature shrub. The leaves lose shine and appear limp, then droop and drop.

It likes shelter from winds and it doesn't like being waterlogged but needs good drainage. Could it be the wet, windy weather again?

Hello G Grandma, it,s sheltered but i think you may have a point about the water. It seems to rain every day now. I managed an hour in garden before more fell. Thanks for reply.
