Hi all has anyone got any blooms from their free seeds with the March issue yet?
Mine are budding and I'm expecting many flowers soon
Mine are about a foot high so far Matt, hoping for lots of flowers in next few weeks.
PaulaH & Matt, mine are about 6inch high, rightly or wrongly I've nipped tops out to hopefully bush them out. No sign of flowers but nice foliage. The first time I've really bothered growing annuals from seed so they'd better look good. Not too hopeful with the Gypsofil..can't spell them. Love white flowers on a dusk evening.
I would imagine they'll catch up KEF. I've planted some in a shady border, they aren't as big as the ones on the sunny side but I had so many of them I just put them all over the garden and gave loads away.
Mines are about a foot tall and looking good so far.
Mine are about a week/10 days from flowering, altho I bought my seeds. It is very hard to fail with "Purity".
I've got two small flowers. Just opened within the last few days
No sign yet.
Not yet....but looking like strong healthy plants
Cosmos in pot looking healthy but no sign of a flowering bud as yet, this is first one.
Just noticed the first few flower buds on my cosmos today , nowhere near opening yet though.
wish I had known as would have bought mag.. oh well.. enjoy
can we collect seed from these Mine are starting to flower. They're growing amongst the veggies
Emma, I grow these every year, about 60-70 plants for white drifts and foils to my other plants. I have never collected seeds but I might give it a go, altho' I would hate to fail and be left with none at all as they are so important to me.... and so easy to do.
You also have to deadhead to keep the flowering going right up to the end of summer/frosts, so I don't really get chance to collect good seed. Perhaps this year I will sacrifice a couple of plants for seeds... but it will be hard
Just went out and counted at least 15 buds on 1 plant with the very top ones just opening
i used the whole packet oooops lol
As you would.....
what stunning flowers though!
Mine have been flowering for over a month, inspite of very strong cold winds battering them. However, I usually grow mixed colours which I prefer and which have much larger flowers than these. My 'purity' flowers are no bigger than a pink perennial geranium flower so quite insignificant but as I said, it may be due to dry and cold conditions here in the south-east. In future I will stick with the coloured ones..
