fusias

i have ms and would like to know if fusias do well in large plastic pots?

any help/advice is welcome

Yes fuschias are fine in pots- they are not all frost hardy and even hardy ones in pots will suffer if the pot gets frozen.

Yes absolutely fine in large pots.

I'd use a decent compost & mix in food granules, unless you're prepared/remember to feed every couple of weeks, plus water retaining granules.

Bush varieties or trailing look fine. Vine weevils can be a pest- you would see the tell-tale leaf notches if the pot got infested.

Hardy ones can survive a reasonable winter in large, well insulated pots, but I always take cuttings of mine every year to be on the safe side. J.

I grow a lot of Fuchsias and all of mine are in black plastic pots and thrive really well. As sotongeoff said, not all are frost hardy so I over winter mine in a heated greenhouse and even the Fuchsias that are meant to be hardy go into the greenhouse. I love them and find them so easy to grow and look after.
