A very tall plant / weed has appeared in my border. it is approx 1.5 metres tall with leaves joining round a prickly stem. At the base of each set of leaves rainwater has collected. Does anyone know what it is?

Looks like a teasel, do you feed the birds?

teasel, the bees like the flowers and the birds love the seeds in autumn, but they are giants.

Its a teasel, they get to 6 foot plus in my garden. Finches like the seeds (they also like evening primrose seeds too)
