Growing plants inside, moving outside

I want to grow a tree (oak) sapling inside and was wondering if, when I put it outside the following spring, it would continue to live as an outside plant would, or whether it would be out of season and go into autumn very early.

Hi Charlie, have you got a sapling or a acorn?. If its acorns you need to pop them in a container and leave them in your fridge until early spring. And then have a bash at germinating them. Also before doing so plop them into a bucket of water. If they float their no good. only use the ones that sink.

If its a sapling put it in the coldest part of your greenhouse. Or a protected area of your garden. In both instances if you don't replicate the seasons. Or let themive through them. sooner or later they will die. They'll die of exhaustion
  • an acorn, and i have already stratified it I just want to start it growing early, inside

If you want it to germinate just leave it outside and wait for springimage

    Remember what happens naturally.
