The hedgerows on my way to work have suddenly exploded into a white froth of flowers - they look stunning.  At  first I thought it was hawthorn, but the leaves don't look like it - does anyone know what it is:

Should have said - it is in Berkshire.

..I think it's a wild plum - prunus domestica..

These tiny pics

blackthorn is out now so probably that. Is it prickly? Other possibilities are wild plum, bullace etc but they've probably finished flowering

Will get out of the car again tomorrow and investigate whether there are prickles !

Thanks for the answers so far

Wild plum or wild cherry or cherry-plum - look out for the fruits in the autumn

Blackthorn in the hedges, pretty, but prickly. Has sharp thorns as nutcutlet said.
