Hellebores

Have had a bad experience with Crocus (even though they have an amazing selection admittedly). Is there a good supplier who send out plants in great condition please?

Many thanks.

If you want hellebores go to a hellebore specialist, eg Ashwood's or Harveys. They are nurseries, they grow plants, not just big business selling them

Got mine from Hayloft when they were on special offer in 2012, they bloomed in 13 and were fantastic in 14, only thing is they havent stopped blooming , I hope they still put on a show in early spring. Maybe I should have cut the flowers off.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I ordered 10 for ??10 from Hayloft and they arrived today. Good strong young plants in plugs with 2"-6" of top growth. 10 different varieties clearly labelled and described on the info sheet. Instruction sheet advised potting them up to grow on for about 4 weeks before planting them out.
  • Thanks everyone, great to know. I suppose plug plants won't flower this year then, so I need to get 2L pots if I want flowers in January?

  • Give crocus another try or look on the rhs web site my 9cm hellebores flowered last year
