hi can anyone tell me what has grown in my barbacue planter

Looks like a hardy geranium  to me

I think I would agree with you sallya42.  Should be flowering soon.

Yep. Geranium

Is that type of geranium called a cranes bill? Sorry, I'm still a beginner but thought it was....

hardy geranium, cranesbills. Not to be confused with pelagonium, often called geraniums that grow in pots.

I've got one that looks like this.  It's called geranium oxianium 'Sherwood'.  It's flowers are rose pink with narrow petals rather than the rounded ones that geraniums normally have.  It even grows in the shade.  Good plants.

thanks for the feedback. its still growing cant wait for the flower to appear.has anyone got a photo r will it spoil it for me

..I've always got a photo Vincent, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you, it's fun to wait and see, but we wouldn't know which variety yours is, in any case, until it flowers..

this is a similiar one of mine at the moment, but of course I know which it is... perhaps when yours flowers you will revisit this thread and let us see, then I can post another of mine in full bloom, and we can compare.... if not, - no problem....

must take a photo of mine & post as in flower now..(cambs) since moving it last year it has taken off...pretty large..see u laters when I`ve done photo..
