In this lovely South East sunshine should I prune my hydrangeas yet.  I am normally wary of doing them too soon in case of frost but they are lfull of new shoots and the dead bits from last year are falling off!!!  Comments/advice please

I pruned my hydrangea last weekend by removing last years flowerheads, which I left on to protect new buds from frost and removing any old wood to increase air circulation.  Had  couple of frosts this week but so far so good, plant remains unaffected.

I gave mine a good prune this week. I'm in the North West, and so far so good....keep fingers crossed this lovely spring weather continues

Thanks guys - if the weather continues to be lovely will do it over the wekend - di the buddlea today

Go for it Light 42,

If you prune and leave 2 buds below your prunings then even if there is a hard frost you will still have buds for this year. otherwise your plant will look a bit leggy. Up to you?
