Just found this uprooted on my path. Don't know where it's from and can't see anything similar in the garden, but I did do a fair bit of rooting around yesterday. Is it a weed, should I plant it somewhere? Thanks.

I can't see this very well Mrs G.  It's either too small or I click to enlarge and get a massive blurred image. Not just your pic, all of them for several days now.

I don't know what it is but I don't think it's a weed

Could be artemisia.

I don't think it's a weed either.  Possibly an Amberboa?

its not a weed but cant think what it is.

It looks a bit like pasque flower leaves but I don't know what goes on under the soil with one. That looks quite woody. I'd plant it and see what happens, but it's probably in a pot by now, Mrs G.

It is indeed in a pot now, Lisa. I can't really tell which matches the leaves form googling the suggestions above. Look forward to finding out and I'll try to remember to let you know.

It's too rigid for a pasque flower.

All the artemesias  have a strong scent to their leaves (at least I think they all do, all the ones I've grown). Has it got that?

Nope, no smell at all Nut.I think it may have been lurking in an old hanging basket.

Maybe have a look through the hanging basket plants at the GC and see if you recognise anything.

Could be an anthemis, there is a small one often sold as an alpine.

I've had a thought where it may have come from and if its what im thinking it is indeed an alpine. I'll have a look when I get home.
