Is it finally OK to start any vegs outside???

depends on what your growing really, carrots, lettuce, spinach, parsnips will grow if the ground has warmed up to about 12 degrees. veg like onions, peas, potatoes can be put down from march but you need to still protect them incase of frost hoped this helped

I have started with onion sets, broad beans, mange tout peas and potatoes. I have planted out baby lettuces. As soon as it warms up, it must do eventually, it'll be all systems go!

I have sown some carrots and pickling onions, they are in a raised bed with a tunnel-cloche over them so hopefully they'll be ok. I don't really like forking out for plantlets from GCs when I can grow things myself from seed. It's horses for courses tho...my sister is going to Australia for 6 weeks so she will buy young plants when she comes back (I'll probably save her a few too).

All I have outside so far is shallots, potatoes,  Jerusalem artichokes  - everything else is a bit late this year but stuff is coming along nicely in the greenhouse
