Prepare the planting hole well, at least twice as large as the pot. Incorporate organic matter such as compost , and a handful of blood fish and bone. Water in well. Mulch in winter. Feed in spring.
I grow the tree paeonies in fairly shady places. They do OK and the flowers last longer than in sun
