I've done a reasonable amount of research on whether or not to remove the flower heads from Kniphofia after they have finished flowering, but can't find any information. Any thoughts gratefully received. Many thanks.

I always remove mine and tidy up the foliage at the same time. This year I found 20 snails hiding in the leaves.

Have you ever compared removing heads off one plant and not another to see if the results are different?
I know one school of thought is that deadheading improves flower production and another that says let the sap and nutrients go back into the plant naturally by leaving them alone and not pruning.

No I have not tried an experiment with the kniphofia
