 I have quite a lot of grass seed left over from last year,is it ok to use it this year? I read somewhere that you should buy new each year but it could have been on the shop shelf for ages.

Try it - you got nowt to lose. I'd wait until spring really is here though.

Sow a bit in a small pot-put it somewhere warm-it will germinate fairly quickly-or sprinkle on wet kitchen roll enclose in a tub keep warm and wet -again it will germinate fairly quickly

Then you will know

I've sown grass seed that's at least 2 years old. It comes up.
