Can anyone help identify this plant ?  It has big leaves and the massive flower spike.  the leaves are a bit prickly and they die off dry and blackened.  The trunks seem quite delicate but the flower spike has survived very well through all the bad weather of late.  it seems to propage easily and is spreading quite well.  it's anew home and we'd love to know what it is - thank you for looking !
