name of shrub?

 this shrub is in my friend's garden - she knows the flowers were yellow, but can't remember when it flowered. It does have a couple of seed pods on it now - about 10cm in length (sorry no photo of the pods). The leaves have a really rough feel to them - does anyone have any idea what this might be? The shrub is about 5ft tall and wide - but probably very overgrown.

Any ideas gratefully received!

    Buddelea does not produce seed pods...

    The leaves in both pictures appear to be different in shape.

    A picture of the seed pods and the whole bush might be good.

    I don't think it's a buddleia of any sort, they don't have their seeds in pods and the whole appearance is wrong

    We need more pics, 

    10cm is a long seed pod, I'd like to see a pic of those
