That's a nice collection Bev

Bev, are those your ferns? Gorgeous! I might have to seek advice about pinching your idea

19/04/2013 at 16:10

Thank you Nutcutlet and FloBear. I got the idea from 'The A to Z of Gardening' when they showed the ferns. It's down the side of my house which never gets any sun. Got logs from a tree surgeon then bought what I thought was a nice variety of ferns. I wanted to bore out the logs to put ferns in, but couldn't work out how to do it.

Oooh ferns...yumm.. Fritillaries and Fatsia

This has got as far as F already and I haven't seen it yet because I've been away! Good thread Bev. Forget-me-not is my choice. Perhaps someone else will enter it while I'm still doing the photo!

Busy-Lizzie beautiful pic.

Lovely pic. My garden wouldn't be the same without them, don't know why I didn't think of them (doh smiley)

Fairy girl (I've just come back from a party, so spelling may be a bit strange) I also, (sotto voce) do not like fuschias I have tried, I really have tried, but I still don't like them.

'F' stands for fritillary, foxglove and Fabulous gardens, which I'm certain everyone on this forum has or is making.

Are we allowed to start G yet? I don't think there are many Fs!

Geranium, there are so many beautiful perennial ones. Psilostemon is one of my favourites.

If Verdun is around I'm sure he has lots of suggestions in this family.

20/04/2013 at 22:54

Gerbera- I really love these. Have lots of little babies on my kitchen windowsill

No busy lizzie,
I'm asleep at moment but will add to geraniums when I wake up
21/04/2013 at 08:17

Good morning Verdun, how did you type that when you were asleep?!

21/04/2013 at 09:11

Geraniums - though I don't know which ones apart from renardii whose leaves are like geckos' feet. And I think I'll have galanthus as it's a long time until s for snowdrop. They're a beautiful relief after a long winter

21/04/2013 at 09:18

Lizzie-didn't you know...he's a 'cloak wearing superhero' and does it with mind control....

Agree with you about Galanthus FloBear...they've only just finished flowering here!

Geranium 'Anne Folkard' is my favourite Mum had them in her wedding bouquet.

and Genista (broom)
