I have bought this year as most years Gazania bout now with the prospect of the new greenhouse and using the conservatory as a stand by greenhouse I was just thinking can I over winter these plants also how would you propagate this plant.

While I'm on the subject of propagation the link for taking cuttings from violets is broken

Would someone please explain how to take a cutting from this plant please?

Gazania can you propagate by root cutting??

Looking forward to your replies

Well gazanias down here usually survive the winter so often become perennial plants. However, whenever I have dug them up to,overwinter in the GH, for, some reason, they usually die on me.  I suspect they dry out too much when they really want to keep growing.

I would sow take cuttings right now, though James.  Gritty...perlite....compost and take from top growth.  Take 3" or so from green but not turned woody shoots, remove soft tips and into poly bag
