Paeonia Tenuifolia Crimea

Jack 3Jack 3 Posts: 360

Saw this in The World Gardens at Lullingstone Castle today. Thought, ooh, I'd like some of that, turns out it seems it could be quite rare.

I like it the colour of the green. Does anyone know where to get these?

    Plantfinder finds anything.

    P. tenuifolia comes from the Crimea but I don't know of a cultivar called Crimea

You do see them at plant fairs and specialist nurseries but I wouldn't expect to find one at a GC.  The flowering time is very short.

    Nice though

Oh, Nutcutlet, you've just made me realise, it's just called Paenoia Tenuiflora and says Crimea on the label because it was a 'world garden' so was stating where each plant came from, duh image

You'd never think those leaves were a paeony if you didn't see the flowers would you

No, I'm looking forward to the paeony flowering in my garden, I've got two large clusters which have shot up in the last two weeks.

Molly the Witch is out today, she doesn't last long either but is very lovely

Nice! No doubt as soon as mine flower I'll be on here asking which ones they are.

hello jack, found this for sale today at my local walled garden plant sales, but it is quite pricey. It's at Scampston, north Yorkshire.
