Just found this beauty behind the shed. Any ideas?

Japanese anemone

If you have soil that it likes, it will spread - in fact for some people it becomes invasive, but not here for me, much as I love it.  We have the tall white one like that, and two different pink ones - and they are all lovely.

I pinched a bit of my mum's Japanese anemone, you don't need much. Just roots and a growing point

Here is the one you have at the Bristol Botanic Garden last week.

My "invasive" white one grows between two large trees which take the nourishment from everything else I've tried to grow there, plus the shade, so I'm very happy for them to be there. If they spread too far out, I just give the new seedlings a quick spray of glyphosate with a hand sprayer. The pink ones in another border havn't spread, just two nice big clumps. I love them too.
