Plant ID

I saw this shrub/tree at Stowe Gardens, it had a lovely scent and I would love to know what it is?

My first thought is a Sambucus of some sort but I am probably wrong

I thought it looked a bit like Sambucus. You can see something like the small round elder berries forming. The flowers do have a strong sweet smell. But the flowers on plants around here have been over long ago. I was also a bit confused by the two colours apparently on the same plant, or are there two plants there.

Unless it's a branch which has reverted?

Thank you for the replies. When I first saw it I thought Elderberry too, but far too late to be flowering.  The two flower colours belong to the same plant and the scent was strong and sweet.
