Some berries to ID please

On behalf of son, described by him as 'like a hawthorn with the wrong leaves'.

Any ideas? He lives in S. Wales

    As a guess I would say Whitebeam nut.

    I think that could be it. It's out-berried mine by about 1000%image I had no idea they could make that many. Perhaps happier in wet Wales?

    Could it be Black Hawthorn?

    Research suggest black hawthorn has black berries.
