spotted laurel

About three weeks ago I planted three spotted laurels.  Now all the leaves from base to half way up the plants have large brown areas on them (almost like a diseased leaf). Can anyone offer advice.

Have you been watering them? They will need watering throughout the summer as though they were in a pot.

Are they in a sunny spot? They were probably grown under glass, hence the leaves will have been soft and could have been burnt by the recent hot sun.

In either case, they will recover in time provided they are kept moist at all times.

Alina W.  Thank you for your advice.  You could well be right.  I did water them well when I put them in but then went away for a week and the sun was very hot then.  I am now back and have got out the watering can so will keep my fingers crossed.
