Any suggestions please...

I have an established photinia (Red Robin), I would like to plant some flowers/evergreen shrubs/bedding plants underneath around the tree. Any ideas please?

Thank you!

hiya sarah

i would suggest brunnera jack frost....lovely green white leaves and sky blue flowers right now....geranium ann folkard, leaves have a bright yellowish cast and it has brilliant magenta flowers all summer. i would also plant geranium russel pritchard which has pink flowers seemingly forever and its almost evergreen.  for different shape liriope is a dark green grass like plant, some 6" high with purple spikes in autumn.  there is also a white leaved form called blondie to look out for.  a black evergreen grass like plant, ophiopogon nigrescens, is 5" high with pinky bell flowers.  in the shadier part i would try to plant either hackonochloa or bowlesgolden grass...both quite beautiful deciduous grasses
