The what and when of feeding clematis
I have these clematis: Helsingborg, Montana Elizabeth, Parisienne, Prince Charles, Alionushka, Venosa Violacea, and 3 others that I will post later on a separate thread with pics for you to id.
So far the Helsingborg flowered very well in the spring. Do I cut off the seedheads to get a second flowering?
The Montana was magnificent, Parisienne is blooming its socks off, and Prince Charles has a fair number of buds, but lost a lot in the gales.
Alionushka is about 6'6" high and only just beginning to show buds at the very top of the stems. It has fallen over twice as it's not self clinging. I'm giving it one more chance ....
V V is now in its third year and produces buds which don't open properly.
So any tips for the problem ones will be most welcome!
I'll post a pic of Parisienne if I can.

No benefit cutting the seedheads off the Helsingborg, you should get new growth soon. which will produce flowers later in the season, Alionushka one of the best herbaceous clematis you can find, needs some support through a shrub or obelisk, but has stunning pink bell flowers later season.
