I have 5 yellow lily Citronella bulbs waiting to be planted and l wandered if anyone had experience of them being planted in their borders, rather than in pots. I would ideally like to plant them in my front garden border where l have all my hot coloured flowers . My soil is Devon clay , but it has been well improved over the years and is fairly well drained now.  So would l be able to plant them once and leave them to naturalize ? Do you think they would be winter hardy if l planted them on grit?
