I wish to re-stain my fence but have a honeysuckle that was only planted last year in the way. I could cut it back hard but I this wise?

Milzy, can you untangle from the fence?  Then lean it away in order to treat the fence. I prune honeysuckle in autumn or spring fairly hard back. It won't harm your plant.

Looks like it is well entwined into the fence, so I guess no.

Prune off all those stems entwined and lower honeysuckle away from fence.

Reattache when fence dry and when growth re commences prune to new shoots Milzy
