Tree, bush and bulb ID

Another tree to ID. The bush is under the tree. The following pictures are with details. Also, I've accidentally dug out a very strange looking bulb.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Crocosmia bulbs do that on top of each other thing. Could it be that?

Not sure of the tree. The shrub is Choisya ternata

The bulb is a corm, the new one stacks on top of old ones. Its possibly a Crocosmia. lucifer in particular has big corms. How big is it , its possibly a crocus if it is dying down now, as opposed to shooting up.

If we're all saying the same thing does it count as singing??? image

Thank you all! It's great to have so much help. Even if you don't say the same thing it can count as singing. Like this beautiful motet by Machaut which is a setting of two different poems.

Definitely Cotinus coggygria for the tree, the bush is a Choisya (probably 'Sundance' judging by the lightness of the foliage) and I agree that the corm is Crocosmia.

It might be a crocus, FidgetBones, I remember seeing some in that part of the garden.

Does anyone know what is the plant climbing in the background? I've planted the corm back in. Hopefully no damage was done.
